Kaboodle (http://www.kaboodle.com/), the largest social website for passionate shoppers, today launched PopPicks, an exclusive, tiffany pendants, members-only online sale destination that allows shoppers everywhere to determine which products are offered at a special price for a limited time.
An ongoing program featuring a new retail partner each week, PopPicks features a collection of products selected by Kaboodle editors in partnership with the featured retailer. After four days of voting, the most "hearted" products are made available to Kaboodle members at an exclusive price for four days or until the reserved inventory is sold out. Once the quantities of specially priced items are completely sold, Kaboodlers can still buy the product at its original price. During voting and limited-time sales, Kaboodlers can invite friends to participate via Kaboodle’s peer-to-peer messaging system as well as on e-mail,tiffany earrings, Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms.
Moxsie, an online fashion retailer featuring independent brands, will be the inaugural launch partner. Explaining the appeal, Julia Kung, Moxsie’s director of marketing, said, "PopPicks is a unique way for Moxsie to unveil cutting-edge merchandise to the alpha consumers who appreciate it. The reason PopPicks is so different and appealing is because it allows retailers to present an interactive experience in a participation-rampant environment. Through PopPicks, Moxsie is also able to extend its reach to a very valuable group of sophisticated shoppers in a measurable way."
Additional participating launch partners in the coming weeks include other online fashion favorites, Karmaloop, Ssense, tiffany bangles, Ivy Blue and 80sPurple.
"As the leader in streetwear online, Karmaloop is always looking for exceptional programs that help us expand our footprint in a meaningful way," said Natasha Chu, Karmaloop’s e-commerce manager. "Kaboodle continues to be on the forefront of innovation when it comes to creating distinctive marketing programs that provide consumers with a unique online shopping experience. This partnership allows us to broaden our online presence through emerging technology and tap into an increasingly important social dynamic around shopping and purchasing."
The debut of PopPicks reinforces Kaboodle’s leadership position in social shopping as it offers a first of its kind platform that directly integrates social commerce into its online shopping community. Shari Gunn, chief marketing officer at Kaboodle, explains, "At its core, Kaboodle has always been a way for shoppers to discover, share, tiffany rings, and interact with products that have been vetted by other shoppers like them. This new feature extends community empowerment and amplifies their collective voice by allowing them to influence what, exactly, is featured during our exclusive sales events. It also provides an innovative e-commerce opportunity and a new revenue stream for Kaboodle."
Initially, PopPicks will feature primarily fashion apparel and accessories. Soon Kaboodle will broaden its offering to include sought-after lifestyle brands in home, beauty and gadgets.

I got an e-mail from Sam Wasson, the 28-year-old author of "Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.," the best seller about the making of "Breakfast at Tiffany‘s," thanking me for mentioning the book.
I’ve never met Wasson, a film student turned film writer hailed by The New Yorker as "a fabulous social historian." But within seconds, after I told him that I loved the bit in his book about the on-screen/off-screen chemistry of Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney in the incandescent "Two for the Road," we were madly e-mailing back and forth on a subject of mutual obsession and depression: Why romantic comedies now reek. Here’s our exchange:
Me: "How did we get from ‘Two for the Road’ to ‘The Bounty’ and ‘He’s Just Not That Into You?’ "
Sam: "This is the question I ask myself every morning and keep asking all day, and annoy all my friends and lovers with. Every time I see Jennifer Aniston’s or Jennifer Garner’s face I wince. Basically, every time I see someone named Jennifer. They say the problem is teenage boys and girls, that they drive the marketplace. But I say they only drive the marketplace because there’s nothing out there for grown-ups to see. Apropos, I can’t remember the last time I saw two people really falling in love in a movie. Now all we get is the meet cute, a montage, a kiss, then acoustic song into fade out. Nothing experiential, only movies manufactured from movies. Apparently, there was once a time when Jill Clayburgh danced around in her underwear. She laughed, she cried, she hurt, but it seems like a legend that never happened. Now we have ‘The Bounty’ and I don’t know what to do on Friday nights. Are you sorry you asked?"
Me: "Why can’t studios and stars find witty writers to go beyond bridesmaid dress movies?"
Sam: "I am not joking when I say that because there is nothing to see (especially, and tragically, in romantic comedy) my girlfriend and I have had to stay home and in some cases fight. If there were better movies out there, I am sure so many relationship disasters may have been averted. Also, romantic comedies, the good ones, taught me how to love,Tiffany rings, or at least instructed me on how to try. If I were falling in love now for the first time and going to see this garbage thinking this was real,Tiffany necklaces, I would be in deep [expletive]. It was only after I saw ‘Annie Hall’ as a wee Jew that I realized what it was to be a person in love. It has been a touchstone ever since. Back in the days of one-foot-on-the-floor, wit was the best (and only) way to talk about sex. Wit was — this is incredible — commercial. Even something as ridiculous as ‘Pillow Talk’ winks at you. If people only realized that Paramount in the ’30s and ’40s was the golden age of American wit. Algonquin Round Table, eat your black hearts out. The question is, will there be a backlash? A renaissance? I don’t think people realize how dire the situation is. I mean culturally, emotionally, the whole idea of romance is gone, gone, gone. … And I don’t care how good the novelist,Tiffany key rings, I’ve never read anything that touches Kate Hepburn and Cary Grant in ‘Bringing Up Baby.’ Is it too early to drink?"
Me: "Where are new Sturgeses and Lubitsches?"
Sam: "When ‘Up in the Air’ (which I actually liked) came out last year, people were calling Jason Reitman the new Preston Sturges. What they meant was Reitman respects language. He is interested in the vernacular, like Sturges was. The major difference is that Sturges invented a dialect all his own, one that really sang with American pluck. But that the comparison was ever made goes to show you how desperate (certain) people are for real romantic comedy. If the bar were any lower, they’d be calling James Cameron the next Sturges. As for Lubitsch, there will never, ever, ever be another. Ever. A guy like that comes around once in a universe. Proof is that even Billy Wilder, whose motto was ‘What would Lubitsch do?,Tiffany Money Clips,’ tried but never came close."
Me: "With so many women running studios, you’d think they’d focus on making better rom-coms."
Sam: "Even the studios that are run by women aren’t run by women. They’re run by corporations, which are run by franchises. Unfortunately for us, Jennifer Aniston is a franchise. So is Katherine Heigl and Gerard Whatever-His-Name-Is, and even when their movies bomb, their franchise potential isn’t compromised because overseas markets, DVD sales and cable earn all the studio’s money back. I’m told that ‘Knight and Day,’ that awful Cruise/Diaz movie, has already been good for Fox for exactly this reason. The worst part of it is, from Hollywood’s point of view, it ain’t broke. I never thought I’d say this, but thank God for TV. O.K., now I am drinking."

Jim Patterson’s 1933 Delage D8S Roadster with coachwork by De Villars should be one of the contenders for Best in Show at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The Delage was the star of the 1934 Paris Auto Salon. An extensive restoration of the car was recently completed at RM’s Chatham, Ontario,Tiffany necklaces, workshops. To read more about the Delage, please visit autoweek.com.

"Whoop,Tiffany Sets, whoop!" went the girls. Weep, weep! went the emotional super-fans. At Harrods last week, Jennifer Aniston (pictured) followed Britney Spears,Tiffany rings, Julio Iglesias and Luciano Pavarotti and launched her own perfume.
I sprayed a sample in the air and sniffed. "Jen sprays and then walks into the fragrance," said the PR person. "That’s so that you don’t over-spritz," Aniston told me. The scent was sweet, clean and sexy, with a top note of jasmine. "It was one of those first sense memory things," said Aniston of the flower, one of her favourite childhood smells. "I had a specific idea of what I wanted that [fragrance] to be: a representation of myself, not what some ad agency’s representation of myself was. I’m usually pretty much misrepresented all the time." Not this time. According to Laurent Le Guernec, senior perfumer at International Flavors & Fragrances, and official celebrity "nose", who has worked with Sarah Jessica Parker, Jay-Z and Sean John: "Jennifer was involved from the beginning – more than other celebrities". Aniston appeared at the first meeting with her favourite smells ("a candle, a L’Oreal hair serum, and a body lotion that I love"), and it was she who decided on the name: "It was in the 11th hour, so I was like,Tiffany necklaces, ‘excuse me but f*** it, let’s just call it ‘Jennifer’." But will I wear it? Yes, it’s light and pretty and perfect for the day; it isn’t as cloying as celebrity fragrances – "Kate", one of Kate Moss’s earlier efforts, comes to mind – and its sleek packaging is discreet enough to open in front of the family at Christmas without incurring extreme humiliation. But I like to smell of me, not someone else. Fortunately for Aniston, there are thousands of super-fans who disagree. ‘Jennifer’ is on sale at Harrods: 50ml,Tiffany bangles, pound(s)29; 85ml, pound(s)36

Butler University issued the following news release:,tiffany pendants
An $11,320 grant will allow Butler University to expand student activities with and benefitting campus neighbors.
Indiana Campus Compact awarded a one-year Service Engagement Corps (S-E Corps) AmeriCorps grant to Butler in June, as part of a new program to engage 150 Indiana college students in community service.
With the grant, Butler’s Center for Citizenship and Community (CCC) will expand its pool of ACEs, or Advocates for Community Engagement. ACEs are Butler’s student liaisons with community service programs; they coordinate and track the work of other students, easing the oversight burden for the community partners.
For example, ACEs have worked with fellow Bulldogs at the Martin Luther King Community Center on West 40th Street for several years. They’ve offered after-school tutoring and helped develop a "grandparents’ rights" document for the center’s Second Time Around Kinship program. The grant proposal outlined possible additional ACE involvement with A Caring Place adult day care, the NAACP and the Immigrant Welcome Center.
The CCC staff trains and supervises ACEs, who are paid through a combination of university and federal work study funds. With S-E Corps funding, CCC Director Braid hopes to provide additional incentive for each ACE to commit to a 300-hours-per-year work goal.
Braid said the service-learning outreach programs that the CCC designs and oversees offer Butler students much more than just a chance to help others. Through them, students can fulfill the service-learning requirements of specific courses and apply what they are learning.
Equally important, tiffany rings, Braid said,Charm pendant, the programs "let students learn about and participate in the process of citizenship at a neighborhood level.
"From Butler’s perspective, civic engagement is both a philosophy of education and a way of thinking and acting in the world," he said. "When our students are civically engaged, tiffany key rings, they recognize how their decisions and actions, both now and after graduation, affect others. They come to see themselves as citizens and choose to participate in the cooperative process at the heart of a democratic community."
The University’s new Indianapolis Community Requirement offers "an ideal context" for the S-E Corps program, Braid said. Starting in fall 2010 semester, all Butler students will be required to engage in service to the Indianapolis community, either as part of a course or through other programs.
The requirement grows out of the University’s strategic plan goal of pursuing creative off-campus collaborations that engage students in learning experiences with local impact and national reach.

Shouts of triumph and excitement have been heard outside Southport Middle School over the past few weeks. Excitement at summer school? Yes, for 26 sixth graders and their teachers in Perry Township, Indiana, where students are learning and strengthening essential math skills in a fascinating pilot program that may very well have the power to transform primary education.
Perry Township is the first district to pilot the Power of U – a digital learning platform. The platform was developed through the district’s partnership with McGraw-Hill Education and SynapticMash, a company that offers learning management systems and programs. Power of U is designed to improve learning outcomes by providing highly individualized instruction and assessment. Students were specifically chosen for the pilot because they struggled in math during the regular school year. The Perry Township School District and McGraw-Hill Education developed the data and learning management system to tie instruction and assessment together.
"It is an honor and benefit for Perry Township Schools to participate in the Power of U pilot with McGraw-Hill Education because student engagement and performance are among our greatest priorities," said Robert Bohannon, the principal of Southport Middle School. "Our partnership has provided an unprecedented opportunity for our students to be exposed to an effective, technology-driven program that is helping them improve their affinity for and achievement in math, preparing them for the upcoming school year and long-term academic success."
During the pilot, students are participating in three instructional periods, essentially replicating what would have been 12 weeks worth of instruction in a traditional school environment. The Power of U digital platform matches students with teachers and lessons focused on specific math skills. These skills are taught using the most appropriate instructional method (e.g.,tiffany necklaces, teacher-led instruction, small group instruction, one-on-one tutoring and independent study).
At the end of each day, instructional data generated by each student is collected. Based on that data, discount tiffany, a new schedule is created for each student and teacher for the following day. Mid-way through the four-week program, each student has successfully mastered at least 13 different skills and some have mastered as many as 31. Skills range from plotting numbers on a number line to simplifying equations. In a traditional school setting, a high-performing student typically masters about 10 skills.
The Power of U platform enhances the teacher’s ability to guide students through the effective use of real-time data to inform and tailor instruction. The platform expands on and completely automates the 2009 School of One pilot in New York City, of which McGraw-Hill Education was a major partner and content provider.
Perry Township School District submitted the pilot for a federal "Investing in Innovation" grant. If the grant is awarded, Perry Township School District will expand the Power of U to five classrooms in the spring of 2011 and to 10 classrooms during the full 2011-2012 school year.

Todd William Devaney handed a $20 note to a taxi driver outside Sydney’s Star Casino and asked the cabbie to wait before entering the complex to kill his ex-girlfriend.
The 39-year-old pleaded guilty on Wednesday to intending to murder fitness instructor Holly Graham,Charm pendant, who was shot twice during Devaney’s May 2008 rampage in the casino’s gym.
One bullet passed through her ribs and another through her abdomen; a third bullet smashed a window.
"Chaotic" scenes ensued among gym users before Devaney fled, prompting police to seal off the area around the casino in inner-city Pyrmont.
Wearing a fake moustache and beard and still carrying three pistols, a folding knife, rosary beads, a Latex face mask and two apples, Devaney was arrested a short time later.
In Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court on Wednesday, he pleaded guilty to intending to murder Ms Graham and to illegally possessing the three pistols.
Before his arrest, Devaney dumped a backpack containing about 24 rounds of ammunition, a NSW police badge, tiffany bracelets, a wig, tiffany rings, a balaclava, an electronic timer and clothes.
As Ms Graham was taken out of the casino on a stretcher by paramedics, she screamed at police: "Don’t leave me … he’s coming back … he’s got a gun … he’s going to kill me".
She told police she thought she was going to die.
"The victim felt as though she was in a nightmare thinking that she wanted to see her parents before she died, tiffany necklaces," an agreed set of facts tendered to court said.
Ms Graham’s injuries included a perforated colon, and she spent six days in hospital.
"In the doctor’s opinion those wounds could have been lethal had the bullet hit a major vascular structure," the statement of facts said.
Ms Graham and Devaney had been in a relationship between 2001 and 2004, with the court hearing it had been violent at times.
Supported by family, Ms Graham was in court to hear the plea and later told reporters it was good to hear Devaney has "accepted what he did".
"I’m really, really lucky that I’ve recovered and I just hope that he gets put away for a long time," Ms Graham said.
A sentence hearing for Devaney has been scheduled for September 15.

Got stuff in your closet you no longer wear? You could donate or dump it. Or you could swap it for something you will wear.
In today’s tough economy, clothing swaps are an increasingly popular way to expand your wardrobe without expanding your credit-card balance. (There’s even a website, www.clothingswaps.com,tiffany pendants, with tips and information about swaps nationwide.)
In the Twin Cities, there have been at least a couple of large, public swaps held during the past year. But this Saturday, the mother of all local swaps will be taking place in Minneapolis at the Grain Belt Bottling House. Called Alter/Nation, it’s the brainchild of Angie Arner, president/founder of CounterCouture, tiffany cuff Links, a local clothing brand that takes fashion’s ultimate wasteful white elephants — bridesmaid dresses — and transforms them into cocktail dresses. (Bridesmaid gowns that are just too ugly to reappear on the cocktail circuit can still be "upcycled" into linings, accessories and "kitschy little promotional pieces, tiffany key rings," Arner said.)
While other industries are going green, the rag trade has lagged behind, Arner said.
Alter/Nation "aims to counter the wasteful habits of the apparel industry through the creative re-use of an existing clothing surplus."
But helping clothes change hands is only part of the mission for Alter/Nation. It’s not just a green event, tiffany rings, but also a fashion event, sponsored by Spring MNfashion Week, as well as a DIY event. Those who attend will have an array of opportunities to do hands-on clothing enhancement. If you know your way around a sewing machine, you can alter your finds "live." Local designers, image experts and sewing assistants will be on hand to help you make simple alterations and embellishments.
"We’re here to help people change the way they put clothing on their bodies," Arner said.
There’ll also be a hair, makeup and photo booth, so you can flaunt your fashion finds, a style show and a DJ, plus appetizers from Red Stag Supper Club and, for the legal-age crowd, cocktails by Phillips Prairie Organic Vodka.
Organizers are asking those who plan to attend to RSVP at www.facebook.com/countercouture, but you can show up the day of the event with clothes in hand. There’s also an early drop-off this Thursday evening (Earth Day), where you can preview the merchandise and pick up vouchers to be used at the event.
